Antique women’s wedding bands offer you a symbol of love from time gone by. Many women have had a wedding ring in their family for generations and their own wedding gives them the opportunity to continue the tradition. Others simply like the look of antique rings and find that they fit their personality.

If you buy an antique wedding ring make sure you get the associated documents that signify its history and validity. The last thing you want is to buy a ring only to find out later that it is not as old as you thought.

Another option is to buy a new ring with an antique look. Many jewelers are happy to make a custom ring with an antique look if that is your preference.

A registered celebrant can officiate at your wedding at a venue of your choice and at anytime of the day or night. The cost of a marriage celebrant varies; each celebrant sets their own fees, but they are generally around $200-$300.

Your celebrants fee will in most cases include:

  • An initial meeting with you both to discuss your ideas; answer any questions you might have and to give their professional advice.
  • Offer a selection of readings, wedding vows and other wording and put your ceremony together once you have decided on wording.
  • A rehearsal at the venue.
  • Performing your wedding ceremony on the day.
  • Give you a copy of your ceremony to keep.

An extra charge is sometimes asked for excessive mileage if your wedding is out of town.

Today many brides are choosing black for their wedding dresses. This elegant and classy colour does not have to feel funereal if you choose the right design to wear it in. You can wear black at your wedding by including it with some other colours like hints of red, silver and white, which will make the black look less sombre. When it comes to fabric, choose something light as opposed to heavy material and avoid dark makeup to even out the black wedding dress.

Style wise; opt for close fitting gowns which will flatter you more. You can still have full skirts but make sure it is paired with a tight fitting bodice. When choosing black wedding dresses, avoid long and solid sleeves, and choose something sheer. Black wedding dresses look great with simple jewellery that say understated elegance, rather than heavy ornamental pieces that fight for attention and make you look over the top.
