If you’re looking for things to see in Boston then I’ve got just two words for you. Open. Your. Eyes. Okay, that was three words…but the fact remains Boston is a beautiful old town with more American history than any other city I’ve ever had the pleasure to wander aimlessly through (with the possible exception of Philadelphia). The town I grew up in has the first sub-franchised McDonald’s and that’s about as close as it comes to a historical claim to fame. Whereas, in Boston, you can’t run twenty paces blindfolded without tripping over a well known American historical landmark. In fact, I’m not too proud to admit, I personally ran face first into Paul Revere’s house without even knowing it was there. (No, I wasn’t running while blindfolded, I just wasn’t paying very close attention to anything but the cobblestones.) Speaking of cobblestones, even the streets are beautiful, historical institutions worth taking the time to stare at while walking headlong into landmarks, that should be reason enough to OPEN YOUR EYES. (Yes, I realize the irony of telling people to open their eyes in the same post in which I admit to walking into the side of a building. Deal with it.)
