Oak bedroom furniture is a bastion of national tradition in the home, a statement of “home sweet home” at its best. To some people, nothing else is real wood furniture except solid wood furniture, and solid oak furniture is furniture at its best. It could not be more appropriate for a home than to have oak furniture gracing its interior. Oak is a mild rich color that many find especially pleasing. It is interesting to note that one of the aspects of the color of furniture that is often not realized is the impact of color within a room. I have a penchant for cool old things. The other day I was visiting at her apartment in old town and the first thing I noticed at her door was an old fashioned doorbell. It was one of the ornate Victorian style mechanical doorbells that my grandmother told me stories about when I was growing up. Needless to say, I had my friend pretty peeved at me by the time she opened the door because once I started ringing that doorbell I didn’t stop. In fact I ringed it again when I was leaving. The ringing sound was cool all by itself, but the thing that put me over the top was the twisting action that was necessary to ring the bell. It just felt so cool to feel the bell rining due to you efforts. Not at all like a lifeless modern doorbell button.
