Many people love to play outdoor volleyball whether it is in the sand or on the grass. Let me take a little time to explain the differences from indoor and outdoor volleyball. Outdoor volleyball is played on smaller courts because there are only 2 people per side. The court size is about 3 feet shorter and narrowers. The net height is the same as it is for indoor. There is not setting the serve when playing outdoor volleyball but you can double contact any hard driven ball. The sets can’t spin in beach volleyball and the block actually counts as one of your 3 hits. The biggest thing to learn for indoor players is that you can’t open hand tip the ball over the net when playing outdoors.
