I recently took a welding class. The class itself was a gift from a friend that they had won at a charity auction. The prize was for a two day hands on welding crash course with a local artist. I have to say that I was a little intimidated before I started. Me welding? I just didn’t see it.

After a little bit of theory, I was welding in no time. I wasn’t any good at it at first but I was welding! Actually, I wasn’t very good at the end of the weekend either, but I definitely got better. The project I chose to do was to make an abstract piece of metal yard art. As far as yard art goes, my master pieces was subtle which is a good thing. I tries to make something that reminded me of a blooming daffodil. I don;t know if that is what anybody else sees when they look at it, but that is the beuaty of abstract art.
