So to start your life off right in a new direction, lets talk about how a burglar alarm works. There are two main types, closed-circuit, and open-circuit. When your door is closed with a closed-circuit system the circuit is complete. The opposite is true of an open-circuit system.
As soon as the circuits are broken, an audible alarm is triggered. This scares off the intruder. Then the control box at the home sends out a notification to the authorities.
